About Us

Neighbourhood Plan

image1

The Plan seeks to ensure that Freshford and Limpley Stoke remain the unique and cherished villages that they are: vibrant, sustainable and forward-looking

communities which are attractive places to live, work and visit. We wish to ensure that future generations will benefit from improved facilities whilst protecting the distinctive rural nature of the villages and their surrounding green fields and woodlands.

There are many ways that you can get involved in your local community.  If you can spare a few hours per month then why not join your local Parish Council?

The Bradford on Avon Community Emergency Volunteers (CEVs) -supported by the Town Council and the Area Board- are organising a programme of First Aid Courses.

Instruction is from the British Red Cross and everyone gains a recognised First Aid qualification on successful completion.  It is rated extremely highly, with one previous attendee rating it ‘The Best First Aid Course I ever took!’

Topics covered will include;-

· Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED, -green box automatic defibrillators)

Mowing of road verges

As we head into the verge mowing season, we would like to remind you of the guidance on the Management of Roadside Verges contained with the Cotswold Conservation Board’s position statement.
With the continuing loss of wild flower rich grasslands and the pollinators and other insects and wildlife they support, road verges are becoming increasingly important for biodiversity. Unfortunately, each year over-zealous or poorly timed mowing leads to the loss of wildflowers including orchids.

The Position Statement is available to download from the Board’s website
