Community bid to buy the Hop Pole

Following the announcement of a Community Ownership Fund in the 2021 Budget, an opportunity arose for making another effort to buy the Hop Pole pub for the community. The Limpley Stoke Community Benefit Society (LSCBS) was formed to apply for the Government funding and to raise the additional sums needed to buy and renovate the Hop Pole.

Success!

The Save The Hop Pole campaign managed to raise just short of £500,000 by the deadline of 15th February 2022 and has been able to purchase the pub. Completion was on 25th Feb 2022. A further £300,000 grant was awarded in December 2022 from the Communities Ownership Fund. Additional funds are still required to complete the renovation. If you are interested in becoming a shareholder, please go to the Save The Hop Pole website at www.savethehoppole.org for more details.
